“Hall of Fame” San Diego Union/Tribune – September 02, 2001

After three years of intense earthquake retrofit and restoration work on this historic building, the Los Angeles City Hall will finally reopen to the public on September 23rd. Leaders in Los Angeles had a difficult decision on their hands whether to demolish and rebuild or, retrofit and restore. For obvious reasons, the latter was the best choice, just as it was for the project leaders to award the reconstruction work of the 7 bronze elevator cabs to their original specifications, to Custom Cabs Ind. (C.C.I). Our expertise in custom cab design, modernization and manufacturing is unparalleled, as is our quality and customer satisfaction

After many years
of search for a new home, the Asian Arts museum's new building is under
construction and will become an integral part of San Francisco's Civic Center in
the heart of the city. Designed by the internationally renowned architect Gae
Aulenti, it is scheduled to open to the public in
2002. Custom Cabs Ind. (CCI) was selected to build this elevator due to the
unique concept coordination needs between the architect and our factory relating
the complete system. The cab is comprised of glass walls and ceiling with
polished stainless steel skinned sling and platform as
well as chrome finish hoistway equipment to be consistent with the # 8 stainless
steel finish of the mullions and the glass entrances framed stainless steel with
# 8 finish supplied by CCI. This cab incorporates front and rear access doors.
